About Ocean Cranio

  • There is a quiet magic to Craniosacral Therapy. It has a life of its own. The practitioner’s hands meet the client’s system in a way that is less about fixing and more about listening. It is like a mirror, a balm, a witnessing. The body reveals where it has been holding, bracing, twisting, tightening — and in being met with attuned presence, it begins to soften and reorganise.

Ocean Cranio is rooted in this understanding, that healing doesn’t require force. It requires presence, safety, and trust in the body’s innate wisdom. Through gentle, attuned touch, I support the body in releasing held patterns and returning to a more natural state of balance.

  • I am Sarah, lover of the ocean and the natural world, authentic expression and internal work. I am a sensitive being with strong intuition.

I completed my training in Visionary Craniosacral Work with the Milne Institute. I have also completed additional units in Craniosacral Therapy for Infants and young people, The Brain, and Visceral Work (organs).

In addition to Craniosacral Therapy I have taken units in Counselling at Flinders University, and completed:

    • Thai Massage

    • Reiki - Level 2

    • Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

    • Sleep Talk Therapy/ The Goulding Method

I have extensive experience working with people with disabilities and previously ran a business delivering imagination-based adventures for children at childcare centres. I have also worked closely with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, including those from Thailand, South Africa, Nepal, and Mexico. These experiences have strengthened my ability to work with a wide range of people and have fostered a deeper sense of empathy, as well as the capacity to support clients with sensitivity and openness to their unique circumstances and emotions.

  • Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive treatment designed to support your body’s natural ability to heal and rebalance. If it’s your first session, it’s normal to feel curious or even a little unsure about what will happen. Here’s a simple guide to help you feel prepared and at ease.

    A Calm and Supportive Environment

When you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into a quiet, comfortable space. We will begin with a brief conversation about your health history, current concerns, and what you’re hoping to get out of the session. This is also a chance for you to ask questions and share anything that feels important.

    Fully Clothed, Deeply Relaxed

You’ll remain fully clothed throughout the session, so it’s best to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Most of the treatment takes place while you lie on a treatment table. Adjustments can be made to ensure you feel supported and at ease, ie on your side, back or front.

I sometimes use hot towels to cleanse the feet or warm the face.

    Gentle, Subtle Touch

Craniosacral therapy generally uses very light touch, often no more than the weight of a coin. However at times deeper pressure is called for ie when working with the gluteal muscles.

Craniosacral ‘holds’ are usually in areas such as your head, spine, shoulders, sacrum, or feet, tuning into subtle rhythms within your body. These gentle techniques aim to release tension in the nervous system and encourage natural balance.

If you have discomfort with any hand position or hold, you will be encouraged to share this so it can be changed.

    A Unique Experience for Everyone

Each session is different. Some people feel a deep sense of relaxation, warmth, or gentle movement in the body. Others may notice emotional release, visual imagery, opening and feelings of love, or a quiet stillness. There’s no “right” way to experience it - your body will respond in its own way.

    After Your Session

You may feel calm, grounded, and more connected to your body. Some people also notice shifts over the following days, such as improved sleep, reduced tension, a freer body, or emotional clarity. It’s a good idea to drink water, take things gently, and allow your body time to integrate the experience.

A Space to Be Heard and Supported

At its core, craniosacral therapy is not just about physical relaxation, it’s about meeting you in a safe, respectful space where your body and nervous system can unwind. You are welcome exactly as you are, and your experience will always be guided at a pace that feels right for you.

If you have any questions before your first session, feel free to get in touch - your comfort is an important part of the process.

  • Before I came to Craniosacral Therapy, I loved to move my body through dance and Acroyoga. In 2014, I was in Thailand completing a Thai massage course. It was a couple of days before I was due to begin an acro yoga teacher training in Koh Phangan, and I went to the park in the old city to ‘play’/jam with other acro yogis. I had spent the day at massage school, working on loosening the shoulders, and my mistake was then to follow class with an acrobatics, and I dislocated my shoulder. It wasn’t my first dislocation. I had already undergone surgery on one shoulder in the past, and this injury felt like a painful repetition of an old story.

I couldn’t travel home. I was in physical pain, and something deeper felt shaken — my sense of direction, my future path, the identity I had built around movement and strength. I spent the following days in Chiang Mai, resting, feeling depressed and thinking about the teacher training course I was missing.

I knew I needed some support, and I found a woman offering something called Craniosacral Therapy. I didn’t know much about this modality, but had to try something.

    My response was unexpectedly profound.

The work was subtle, yet my body softened in a way I hadn’t experienced before. Something began to reorganise, not through force, but through presence. Her hands felt like a balm to my aching system.

That experience started a new trajectory for my life.

Over the following years, I continued to seek out and receive Craniosacral sessions around the world.

A couple of years later I had surgery on that shoulder, and sought out Craniosacral therapy post operation. My body was full of heavy painkillers, surgical trauma and stress. The craniosacral therapy practitioner put his hands on my chest and warmth flooded my intercostal muscles and diaphragm. My breath instantly eased. ‘Thankyou’ I whispered. I took deep, clear breaths for the first time since the surgery.

It became clear to me how profound this work is, and that this wasn’t only something I wanted to receive — it was something I needed to study.

So I took a Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy introductory course with Mind Body Healing Centre in Brisbane, and then completed the full 2-3 year training in Visionary Craniosacral Therapy with the Milne Institute.

I have studied with Hugh Milne, Benjamin Shield, Matthew Kirsch.

My educations continues with clients and in trainings. There is a such a depth to the practice that I know this is a lifelong study and practice that I am committed to.
